Tambun Lost World Team Building | Ipoh

Two weeks ago, I had a 3 days 2 nights team building event in Lost World of Tambun. It is a series of specially arranged activities for companies who like to organise team buildings. For more information, visit their website here. The whole package of the team building includes accommodation, 3 activities and 4 meals per day.

Here is our 3 days 2 nights itinerary:
Day 1: Lunch- 6th Mile Tunnel- Tea Break- Free & Easy-Dinner- Hot Spring & Spa
Day 2: Breakfast- Zip Line- Triple X Challenge- Tea Break- Waterpark-Dinner- Hot Sprin & Spa
Day 3: Breakfast- Meeting - Lunch

As I understand, there are 6 activities to chose from and our management picked 6th Mile Tunnel, Zip Line & Triple X Challenge. If you want more activities in the package, it will incur extra charges for each activity.

Entrance to the Lost World Theme Park

Entrance to the Team Building Area

Our meet up point for each activity

Our coach giving briefing to us on the activity

Making ourselves comfortable to the water before we start the activity. Most of the activities do require us to be in the water and we were provided with life jackets (able to help you float for 2 hours). So, do not worry if you can't swim, you are still able to float in the water.

Via Feratta with Abseil activity, we didn't participate in this. It is a rock climbing activity.

My first time playing Zip Line. also known as flying fox.

Team photo after 6th Mile Tunnel activity
6th Mile Tunnel is a journey where we go through a cave that is filled with water which can go as high up to your chin. We spent approximately 2 hours to finish the whole journey by walking 8km in the cave.
Few things to take note here:
1. It is advisable to wear water resistant shoes such as "crocs", make sure that they fully cover your whole feet.
2.You are not allowed to wear slippers as there are many rocks with sharp edges below where you may get injured.
3.You may wear sport shoes but be prepared that your lovely sport shoes might be torn after the journey.

Small tea house built inside the cave

 Lost World Petting Zoo
Other than just a water park, the theme park also come with other activities like amusement park, petting zoo, tiger valley, tin valley & hot spring.

Bird Paradise
An open concept bird cage where you will be surrounded by more than 18 species of birds. You even get a chance to touch them!

As for accommodation, we stayed at Lost World Hotel- the only hotel in Lost World of Tambun. I was given Classical Room. It is a basic room with no refrigerator, floor is tiled but wasn't clean as there are mud stains all over the place. It seems like they can't put carpets as people will be wet when they come back to the room.
My room is on the 3rd floor, facing directly to the entrance of the theme park, I was told higher floors have better views.

A simple cupboard with a safety box, TV and kettle. I used it to store my phones & purse since we are unable to bring them during our activities.

Toilet with basic toiletries

Night view of the entrance

The admission fee for theme park is RM50 (adult) and RM43 (children). Theme Park is closed at 6pm, however there is a hot spring area that is open at night.

A street near to the hot spring that sells Ipoh's local food. We tried some of the food like curry mee and tau fu fa, tastes not bad with reasonable pricing between RM 3-6.

Flaming Percussion Show at Hot Spring & Spa. It start from 8.30pm.

People singing & dancing at the rooftop while 3 men below performing the fire show.

The Hot Spring & Spa is a night event that requires additional entrance fees. It costs RM20 per person and starts from 6pm-11pm. For two nights consecutively in the hot spring, the crowd was crazy, never thought that Ipoh people would like to visit the hot spring during night-time.

 Hot Spring

Lost World of Tambun is basically a nice place for families with children, a short getaway for the parent & kids to enjoy. Overall, I quite like the team building games, it was able to build our team work, and also increase our courage while reducing our fears when encountering new tasks. I would recommend it for those who like to have company's team building.

Johnny Rockets | Sunway Pyramid

Johnny Rockets- a name that often seen in the social media and recently can be heard often in the radio channel. Johnny Rockets is an international restaurant chain that offers simple, great-tasting food from a menu of all-American favourites, including juicy burgers, classic sandwiches and hand-dipped shakes and malts. They came into the Malaysian market since last year and currently operates in 4 locations- The Curve, Avenue K, Sunway Pyramid and KLIA2.

Since I was in Sunway Pyramid for movie, I decided to give it a try on their food. Johnny Rockets in Sunway Pyramid outlet is located outside of the shopping mall, just opposite the main entrance of the mall.

During your meal, you will be filled with music and dancing by the staff members regularly in the restaurant. You can dance together with them too! However, if you are looking for quiet meal, you got the wrong place here.

Just for your info, Johnny Rockets do not have a halal cert in the restaurant because they have a bar that serves alcohol. However, all their food is said to be halal since they purchase meat and poultry from local suppliers that have gotten JAKIM Halal Certification.

Their menu book, you can view their online menu here.

Pink Guava & Orange juice- RM 8.90 each
Although their famous beverage are shakes & floats, we didn't order them because we are looking for some light beverages to go with our meal. We ordered their juices but unfortunately it is not refillable, unlike Chili's. The range and taste of the juice is similar to Chili's, I think they get them from the same supplier.

Bacon Cheddar Single-RM24.90
Their 1/3 pounds of hamburger comprises of beef bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, white onions and their special sauce served with salad and fries. You may also upgrade the fries to onion rings or sweet potatoe fries with only RM 2.50. The patty was indeed very nice with the sauce, just that one complaint we have is the bun. The bun is too dry and wasn't pan fried well, as far as my bf remembered, the taste in America is far more better.

BBQ Chicken Melt-RM19.90
They used the normal white bread and grilled it until crispy. The sandwich is made of grilled chicken thighs, cheddar cheese, turkey bacon, onion ring & barbecue sauce. Overall the sandwich tastes quite nice, however it is nothing special to shout about.

Whether you will like the place is debatable because if you are looking for fun & entertainment, you will love this place. Overall, food isn't fantastic as I imagined. To compare it with Chili's and TGIF, my preference still go to Chili's (strictly comparing the same foods). However, I will still recommend this place for those who haven't try it out, give it a chance! Who knows, you might love this American-pop style of dining that's full of fun.

The Dusun | Seremban

For the first time, both of us went for a trip that is away from buildings and cars, away from shopping malls and somewhere near to nature. Both of us aren't so adventurous, but we decided to make a change this time. We found this beautiful place that is 800 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Titiwangsa Main Range, next to Berembun Forest Reserve, 4,000 acres of protected virgin forest rising to 3,900 feet.

Where are we going this time?
The Dusun at Seremban

The road to Dusun is just a one lane road with two way access. So be careful when driving as you may encounter another car/lorry coming through.

There are 5 types of houses to choose from. If you are staying in Tembusu, Berembun, Emas and Sora, you will park on an empty space provided on another road. While for Perling houses, you will have your own private parking space in front of the house. We booked the Perling Air which is near to the infinity pool.

The gate to Perling houses. Approximately 20-degree slope towards the parking space. If you have a modified car with body kits, you might have a problem going up.

Perling Air House
This is our house for 3 days 2 nights stay, it costs RM 500 for each night.

BBQ and sitting area at the balcony. At night, you can have BBQ dinner here. They will help you to set up the fire around 6pm. You can either bring your own food or order from them in advance. We actually brought our own food to cook.

Mini kitchen outside the room

The mini kitchen is equipped with sufficient cooking utensils, a small fridge, spice rack, cooking oil, salt, brown and sugars. The fridge provided in Perling house is quite small, it is advisable to bring your own ice box if you have more food to store.

Water dispenser

The open air bathroom, you can enjoy the nature when bathing.

Toilet

Bedroom
There are two electronic mosquito repellents provided in the room, the staff advised us to switch them on around 5pm. During our stay, we don't encounter much of a problem on mosquitoes but more towards lizards and other insects. It is best to use the mosquito net at night to avoid bugs.

The infinity pool beside Perling House

Berembun House
We need to pass by here to the breakfast area every morning. Berembun is a Malay style house that is attached to the infinity pool. I chose Perling house instead of Berembun because it has more privacy.

Dining Patio where we have breakfast everyday. You can also request to have the breakfast to be sent to your house.

Cooking our first day's dinner in Perling house

Breakfast on the second day in our house

We ordered their Minangkabau Set-RM 80 for our lunch. It is very delicious, cooked by the locals.

At night, we cooked our own dinner accompanied with some BBQ food as well.

Third day's breakfast

We were served with the local delight-Nasi lemak with rendang chicken. The nasi lemak tastes quite delicious especially with the rendang. Thumbs up!

During our first day, we had three visitors to our house.
The owner's dog- Panzy

The owner's cat- Whiskers
The other cat was more adventurous and constantly wandered around. =)

It is a nice rainforest resort to relax and get away from the town for a short weekend. If you are a nature lover, it is definitely a place worth visiting. If however you are scared of insects, this might not be the place for you, as you won't be able to get away from them especially after 6.30pm. There are a few activities like jungle trekking, bird watching, massage, and a half day trip to the Ostrich Farm offered by The Dusun. You can book with them when you make reservations.
