Chicken Floss Tou Sar Kok | Jing Yuan Biscuit and Bakery, Melaka

In Penang, we have famous Tau Sar Piah; In Seremban, we have famous Seremban Siew Pau. What about Malacca? Well, Malacca also have its famous biscuit. Other than the pineapple tart,  it is call the Chicken Floss Tau Sar Kok.

Let me introduce to you today an old shop selling what is famous for. Jing Yuan Biscuit and Bakery is an old shop running the business for many years now. If you are not local patron, you will hardly know this place but it is well-known among the Singaporean. Weird.. A Must Visit shop if you are in Malacca!

Jing Yuan sell a wide range of biscuit in the shop but what I want to introduce is the Chicken Floss Tou Sar Kok. No one leave the shop without a packet of it. Here is a photo of the Tou Sar Kok.
One packet- 5 Pieces for RM4.50

From the photo above you can see there is a layer of chicken floss on top of the tou sar. First bite on the outer layer is crunchy, inner texture of the tou sar is soft and smooth. No worry on the sweetness, it is perfectly fine. You will regret for not trying it. I personally think this is better than the normal Tau Sar Piah. I just can't have enough of it.

Proposal from Him | Villa Samadhi @ Kuala Lumpur

Although it has been 7 month since the proposal, some are still curious about our proposal and I think it is the time I share it out. Since I was very busy on work, I can't manage to take leave for a short getaway from town, so he decided to pick somewhere near KL area. He managed to found out this special place in the heart of city where it is hidden from the street view. No signboard or any indication to show about the place, he used the entrance photo from the website to get to the place. See how secret the place can be.

Photo is taken from the website

This is the entrance of our villa with a private Jacuzzi. Still no indication of his proposal yet...Still suspicious..

The Balinese look of the place using bamboo, wood and bare concrete as the main structure of the villa. Although outside the sun is strong, but it is cooling inside, the benefit of using wood in a house.

Once I open the wooden door, *chiang..chiang..chiang* rose petals all over the floor on the long corridor.

Rose petals along the corridor and a big love in the room area. Instantly, I knew his naughty idea, he is going to propose! My eye already filled with tears by the time I opened the door, I cant really see clearly the road when I reached the room area.

There it goes the proposal from him! A big bouquet of 99 roses and the ring!
I always wanted the proposal to be just two of us, no video, no witnesses or any fancy wedding proposal. Wedding is about two person caring and sharing their life together. Proposal should also be that way, two person enjoy the special  moment together and cherish it. And he make it!

The bathroom area, very long and wide, I can even dance on the area.

My man just love this place the most, two big rain showers just can make him go crazy all day long..

Complimentary chocolate from them, the staff will send to the room when their make up the room in the afternoon.

He actually booked the room that is direct access to the pool. Very beautiful view from our room. Remember to bring your swimsuit/bikini when you are here. You can swim all day long.

There goes the proposal from him! Thank you so much my dear!

If you are planing on a proposal/honeymoon/short getaway that is in KL, here is a good place to be in your list. Check out more from their website. I'm not going to share too much details here as you need to experience yourself to have the wow factor.

Pig Out Cafe | Parklane, Kelana Jaya

I got to know this place weeks ago, and decided to try it out and have a catchup with my old friend. We both love pork so we decided to have a try as we hardly visit any new place for the past months. The cafe is located at Parklane, Kelana Jaya, shop lots area which is quite empty and quiet at night. Parking is plenty where it is the only few shops open at night.

Let's see what they have in the cafe!

Decoration on the counter, simple and neat.

It is a two page, front and back menu, simple and easy.

POC Meatball-RM 12
We ordered the meatball thinking that it will be nice. To our surprise, we were served with 6 small little meatball with the size of 1.5cm. With the price of RM12, I am not expecting to receive this small meatballs, I rather they serve 4 big meatballs around the size of 3cm. I cant taste anything from the meatball except the strong tomato paste.

POC Roast- RM 18
Their signature dish in the cafe- their roast pork. All of us decided to get out from our busy schedule to meet here on the Saturday night because of this. However, it give us great disappointment. We were served with 4 slides of roast pork with 2 small cut of carrot, 2 small cut of potatoes and a bit of smashed potatoes. Everything is countable. I understand roast pork is expensive nowadays, we don't mind on the small serving of the roast pork. But the roast pork that was served to us is over-burned, hard and  3/4 of flesh is oil, we eat nothing but pork oil. Maybe we arrived late and nothing left any more, I rather they said it is sold out and I will come back again.

Caramelised Pork Belly- RM 18
The pork belly taste not bad, but again it is over-burned. It is still one of the better one among all the dishes we ordered.

Lamb Chop- RM 18
No doubt the portion of lamb chop is the biggest of all the dishes we have ordered. The taste is nice however half of the portion is the soft bones. Everyone complaining the same thing after eating it, tiring jaw!

Roast Pork Burger- RM 16
I ordered the roast pork burger thinking of giving them second chance on the roast pork, however the result is still the same. The fries was over-fried, hard and a bit of burning taste. The whole dish taste so oily, no balance meal here, even with the present of vegetbles (they cooked with oil again).

I am not sure what happen to the chef that day, it seem like every dishes we ordered, either it is over-burned or it is over-cooked. Searching back the photos from the blogs posted on Pork Out Cafe, I do not see cases like mine. I guess the chef in bad mood when we arrived. If they continue to serve people that kind of standard, soon or later they will just chase away all their customers.

Da On Fine Korean Cuisine | Pavillion

It was the month again to celebrate my birthday and this year I requested for something different compare to my usual birthday place. I found this place through comments from tripadvisor. It seem like it have quite good comments on it. I love Korean food, so why don't have a try on it.

Let's follow me and discover it now!

Da On Fine Korean Cuisine
“May all good things and fortune come your way.”

It is located at the top floor of Pavillion, in the centre court. Da On features modern and elegant ambience and give you a relax way of your dining experience.

Selection of food in the menu is limited, you can either choose beef, chicken or seafood for BBQ. They do not serve pork but offers alcohol on its menu and uses Halal ingredients.
We were served with 6 different variety of side dishes which is called Ban chan.

For BBQ dishes, you may choose to have it cook outside or inside (in front of you). We choose to cook it inside because we like the experience of seeing our food cook. However, we were surprised that there isn't any grill exhaust pipes installed in the restaurant. We were worry at first about the BBQ smoke but noticed that no smell of smoke at all since we sat in.
Dak Galbi- RM 60
Charbroiled Marinated Chicken

Well cooked by the waiter using charcoal. Surprisingly there wasn't any strong smoke and smell of BBQ. The marinated chicken was good, the meat was tender and well marinated. I like when it is wrapped with lettuce. However, the lettuces served was not fresh enough, the leaves was soggy with dark spot around.

Ojingeo Gui-RM 65
Charboiled Marinated Spicy Cuttlefish

We decided to ordered the cuttlefish which seem to be quite nice from the presentation. The spicy sauce they used was indeed delicious. However, the cuttlefish did not able to adsorb the marinated sauce well, leaving it bland.

Doenjang Jjigae-RM 30
Home made Soya Bean Paste Soup with Rice
In addition, we ordered my all time favourite bean paste soup. The soup was a bit spicy but overall was pretty ok. I still love the one in Ampang. The portion served was small but still reasonable with that kind of price.

Testing out my new Sony RX100M II camera for this review, the end result is good. The best digital camera I ever used so far, the quality of photos taken are nearly as good as a DSLR. All the above photos are non edited except adding of caption. See the next post soon about the camera!
