Tony Roma's | Midvalley

I have always seen Tony Roma's branches everywhere... and this is not my first time trying out their food actually. But its been such a long time and they even changed their menu. Let's see what Midvalley's Tony Roma's has to offer...

For those who don't know what kind of a restaurant Tony Roma's is (note the grammar mistake, but grammatically, its still correct because its a name. Paradox!), it is very similiar to TGI Friday's which serves western food, but they are much more focused on beef. Lots of beef. So beef lovers, here is definitely your place..... maybe, I don't know, 'cause I can't eat beef myself being a devout Chinese. So let's see what non-beef lovers can enjoy over here...

Complimentary Bread - Free
The bread is not bad, just a bit too hard. They could have at least cut the bread into a few pieces to make it easier for everyone. The garlic spread goes well with the bread too, but again, the raw garlic is a bit too strong for my taste.

Bottomless Drinks (Cranberry) - RM8.90
The cranberry juice is quite sour. I would recommend the orange juice which tastes great.

Potato Skins - RM14.90
I like this dish very much. It is crispy and tastes great with the not-so-sour-ish sour cream. I just had to spend lots of time picking out those bacon pieces... bit, by bit.. by bit.

Roasted Garlic & Rosemary Chicken - RM34.90
I highly recommend this. The chicken is grilled just nice and topped with some great BBQ sauce. The portion is quite big though as it comes with rice. But I can't help thinking that this is one fancy western-style chicken rice! Maybe if it came with mashed potatoes, that would be great.

Shrimp Scampi Pasta - RM31.90
The menu stated "A generous portion of shrimp...", and they're not kidding. It feels like they put in a full kg of shrimp into this pasta. Everywhere you dig,  you just find endless pieces of shrimp. The pasta though is not like your regular red sauce pasta. This is the first time I have tasted this kind of pasta, and I would say that some may like it, some might not like it at all. It depends, I find that the pasta is good, just that a little less fresh basil leafs would be better.

Snogurt @ Kota Damasara

Yoghurt, anyone?
I am bring you to have some nice, sweet, smooth flavour yoghurt. I visited this place months ago when it was their third day of opening. We were the only customer that day as it was a raining day. The new outlet is located at Kota Damansara, near Sunway Giza.

Yoghurt wasn't my most favourite dessert and this was also my first time to visit a yoghurt shop in Malaysia. The place was decorated with pink and feel like you are in some kind of wonderland. :)

Look at the wall, decorated with colourful wallpaper with their tagline : "Healthier Froyo, More Delicious, More Fun". Very cute and lovely design they put for their shop. The frozen yoghurt are available in 19 flavours and is 99% fat free.
How to order?
3 simply steps to enjoy your snoggy:
1. Choose your Froyo at the dispenser, experiment with a fusion of flavours.
2. Let your creativity run. Create your personalised Froyo with your favourite toppings.
3. Weight and Pay

How much does it costs?
RM0.49/10 gm
For me, I still prefer original flavour than those fancy flavours like melon, grapefruit and others. But it is fun once awhile to try out some other kind of flavours.

Cheap and Good Western Food @ Restoran Ong Lay

I love to come here when I'm craving for western food and my budget is tight. This place serve nice western food with good price. It is located at  OUG where the stall is just at the corner outside this Kopitiam. You can see the big name Thomas Western.

Let us look at the food:
Grilled Chicken Mushroom Sauce-RM10
It is grilled chicken chop with mushroom sauce on it and served with potatoes and vegetables. I like the gravy, taste really nice with the grilled chicken. I love the most is the baked potatoes cube with their own speciality gravy.I finished the whole thing even with the skin, taste splendid. You must try it!

Deep Fried Chicken Chop-RM10.00
It is another type of chicken chop but is in deep fried. If you order deep fried chicken chop, you will have French fries and vegetables in stead of the baked potatoes. If you like fried than grilled, you should try this!

Grilled Chicken Black Pepper Sauce
It is another choice of grilled chicken but with black pepper sauce. For me, I personally do not fancy about black pepper and normally black pepper sauce are not originally cook by the chef but they use those bottle black pepper to cook the sauce. But if you are a fan of black pepper, have a try on this.

Beside western food, there is also stalls selling other food like this one.
Fried Hokkien Mee-RM6
This is one of our favourite noodle. It taste really nice.

Soon Lee Coffee Shop | Old Town

I used to come here every weekend after exercise. It is a place where I always like to have my breakfast after a long walk at the park. It was a nice place to have some simple breakfast in the morning.

What is nice here? I love the Keuh Teow Th'ng here. It has been here for many years since I was in secondary school.

Keuh Teow Th'ng
One of the famous stalls in Soon Lee is the Kuay Teow Soup stall. I always eat this because its not too heavy for breakfast, and the soup is clear but it is full of flavour. Probably because they use fried pork skin to cook their kueh teow soup, so if you the type who don't like this, you have been warned! But sometimes, their quality was not always that consistence most of time is in weekend when there are too many customers. So, wish you luck!

Other than having noodles, I also like to have some different side dishes like dim sum. It is sold by an old man standing at the corner of the Kopitiam.
The dim sum being offered here is quite nice. Although it is not as high quality as the Hong Kong Style Dim Sum Shop beside, its a much cheaper alternative if you just want some xiu mai and fish balls. I do like the steamed dumplings though, the other two are just regular dim sum like any other coffee shop.

Soya Bean & Ma Chi | Petaling Street

Probably most of you are quite familiar with this place-Petaling Street or we called the China Town at KL. I always come to this place to search for some really good wholesale price beads. As usual, I am always surround myself with food and same as this time, I'm going to introduce you some snack food to have here.

It was a hot day that day I arrived. A cold drink is a must so I went to the stall located opposite the famous mata kucing beverage stall. The small stall is named Kim Soya Bean. It is at the T-junction of the Petaling Street.

Here is my soya bean!
It taste great, not very sweet, just nice to cool down myself for a hot day like that. if not mistaken it is RM1.40 per cup.

Next stop is the Ma Chi stall. It is just a few steps always from the Kim Soya Bean Stall. A old lady selling it with lots of newspapers cutting hanging on her stall. Seem like she is quite famous there.

The old lady was not friendly that day when we asked her whether there is different in price between the original and other flavours Ma Chi. Anyway, we weren't trying to fought with her, so we left her saying anything she want.

Mix all Flavours Ma Chi-RM5.00
Ma Chi were big and huge, I personally prefer small Ma Chi which can easily put into my mouth. But the fine grounded peanuts were a lot compare others Ma Chi are more to sugar than peanuts. It taste not bad but I would still prefer the original taste than those fancy flavours like pandan, yam, chocolate and others.

What are you still waiting for, come over Petaling Street and discover more food there. There are famous for their food like the chee cheong fun, wan tan mee and many more. I will try out next time if I come again. :)

Kaffa Cafe | China Street @ Penang

I am back to Penang!! Oh Yes! How can I not introduce new food place?? I was back for my cousin's wedding and after the wedding's ceremony, we were hungry and thinking of what to eat. Suddenly, dad suggested us a new place for western food. Hohoho..This time, I have new post for Penang food.

Kaffa Cafe at China Street is the one I am going to introduce to you. They have another outlet in Strait Quay. Anyway, Kaffa cafe @ China Street is exactly at the T Junction facing the famous Goddess of Mercy Temple (Kuan Yin Teng) in Penang. Very easy to find if you follow from the temple direction.

So, what so nice about this place? Dad said the food was not bad with reasonable price. I like the environment, it feel like Kopitiam but more modern style and cleaner. I choose to sit outside which is far from the air-conditioner area. It was burning hot that day but I still prefer outside with more natural air and sun light, make me more relax.
Empty tables for outside area but it was crowded inside. I guess Malaysian still prefer air-con area.

White Coffee Unsweetened- RM3.90
The white coffee comes with a small piece of cookie. Mom simply just loved it. For a hot burning day like that, mom still ordered hot coffee.. *Salute*

Peach Tea-RM 5.50
I didn't really like the peach tea very much, taste very fake. What I mean fake here is, the taste was not natural but more to artificial type. Not good!

Mango Juice-RM4.00
It doesn't look like fresh Mango Juice to me. It is those mango juice from packet.

Honey Lemon-RM5.50
Honey Lemon taste far more better than Peach Tea. Should have order this. The ratio of honey and lemon mix up just nice. The best drink for a hot day.

Mushroom Chicken-RM13.90
It comes with Mushroom Sauce, French fries and Mix Lettuce. The Mushroom Sauce was thick with lots of small slices of mushroom pour over the whole grilled chicken thigh. The grilled chicken was juicy inside and totally well cooked. The mushroom sauce was simply splendid! Must Try!

Chicken Marinara-RM13.90
The Chicken Marinara comes with Mozzarella Cheese, French Fries and Mix Lettuce. This chicken chop looks special to me. Red tomato paste on top of chicken chop. Normally what I see is those Chicken Maryland type but this taste great too. Everyone loved it, it seem you never know if you never try. The chicken was well cooked and the meat was tender and juicy. Great job chef! Must try!

Kaffa Lemongrass Chicken-RM13.90
Their signature dish I guess with their shop name on it. My brother ordered this and the portion was a bit small for his size. Hahaha.. I guess signature dish always come in small portion; good thing always come in small. It is another type of grilled chicken but with some spice like lemongrass. The chicken didn't really bring much lemongrass fragrant.

Nasi Lemak Chicken Rendang-RM12.90
Whole chicken thigh cooked with rendang together with the nasi lemak. Dad loved it very much. Normally, if you have ordered Nasi Lemak Chicken Rendang before at any cafe, do you receive such big portion of chicken rendang? No, but here they have! Dad loved the rendang and sambal, taste very very nice he said. He was still thinking of it when we were on our way back home. I guess this dish leave him a good impression. :D

Nasi Lemak @ Bukit Gantang

Whenever, my family on our way back to Penang, we always stop by Bukit Gantang Rest Area for our all-time favourite nasi lemak and teh tarik. There are two stalls selling nasi lemak and we used to buy from the left hand side stalls which consists of nasi lemak with egg but the taste has deteriorate and the rice has a smell of cockroach. Therefore, we no longer buy from there. For now we prefer the nasi lemak stall on the right hand side which is named D'Hentian Selera. You can see it from the photo below.

Outside of the packaging, you can see the name of Rokiah Idris nasi lemak. Yes, this is the one I'm saying! Remember the name when you choose your nasi lemak!
Nasi Lemak-RM1.50

The nasi lemak consists of sambal bilis, peanuts and a small piece of salted fish. The potion was indeed a bit small. We usually take two packets of it. What I love the most is the sambal which suited our taste very much.

Teh Tarik-RM2.00
It used to be my dad's favourite drink whenever he stop by here. But recently, dad realised that the taste of the teh tarik has change. They no longer used Marigold's condensed milk but Dairy Champ which lost the fragrant in the teh tarik. I can see both dad and brother were quite disappointed with the teh tarik as they used to loved.
