Yummy Taiwan | Fahrenheit 88

I was shopping with Mom in Fahrenheit88 and we were finding a place to have meal after shopping. Then we bump into this place since Mom was not in mood to have Sushi that day. It is located at the corner with long walking alley before you can reach the place, but luckily they understand the situation and placed the menu and flyers before the walk in alley so that at least people notice the place. I was attracted to the design and decoration of the place more than their promotion.

Currently, they are having a promotion- Buy 1 and get 2nd same or lower price item at 50% when you flash their coupon. However, I wasn't having any coupon that day but I still get to enjoy the discount. You could get the coupon on the counter or outside the restaurant. Even if you don't have the coupon, they still offer the discount for you.

The variety of the food provided wasn't that much compare to most of the Taiwan Restaurant.

Bubble Milk Tea-RM4.90

The look of the milk tea is a bit brownish and it taste like cocoa with milk more than milk tea. The pearl wasn't that springy(a bit soft..=( ) compare to other bubble milk tea stall.

Osyster Mee Sua Set Meal-RM 9.50

Mee Sua was not bad but I don't see any osyster inside, maybe it was too small. Instead I ate a few pieces of  pig intestines if not mistaken because it has very strong smell of pork. I think the intestines really spoilt the soup because of the smell. I personally quite sensitive on the food smell. Besides, the set also came with two small side dishes-beancurb skin and boiled taro with tuna. The side dishes weren't that nice at all. The beancurb skin (I'm not really sure about that) taste kind of weird. The tuna instead contain very strong fishy smell however the boiled taros were very nice and springy when you eat it. I guess they need more improvement in the side dishes.

Hot Crispy Chicken Rice Set -RM11.50

I like this dish. The Crispy Chicken was very big piece with chilli powder on top. It wasn't spicy like it look to be. The timing of deep frying the chicken was just nice which make it taste quite nice and crispy on the outside.

Anyway, dining in are subjected to 10% service charge without government tax in this restaurant. The price of the food I could said it is quite reasonable especially in KL area.

Dad introduced us to this place as mom was craving for western food. It is located at 32 square which is just opposite of Toyota company, very easy to find. So far I have not heard of this restaurant, maybe I wasn't work at that area, not very familiar with that area too.

Besides from the menu, there are also sets meal which is RM25.90 and RM38.90:
For RM25.90 set meal, you will get
-Mushrooms/Chicken soup
-Chicken Chop with gravy/ Fish and Chip
-Dessert
-Coffee/ Tea/ Ice Lemon Tea/Sour Plum Juice

For RM38.90 set meal, you will get
-Choose any one soup from the menu in the soup section
-Grilled Tiger Prawn with chicken/fish/lamb/ beef
-Dessert
-Coffee/ Tea/ Ice Lemon Tea/Sour Plum Juice

So Mom and I have order the RM25.90 set meal, each of us order fish n chip and chicken chop each plus mushroom soup, while dad and brother order the RM38.90 set meal, both also order different dish. Dad ordered the fish and brother ordered the chicken and both choose shark's fin soup with crabmeat.

Taste no bad in a western restaurant like this, it is unique to find Chinese cuisine in Western Restaurant and this restaurant do provide.

Bread was serve before the soup like normal. I still remember that one of my friend taught me to put sugar and butter together on the bread to make it taste better and it does work on me. Try it! It will be better if the bread serve in hot. Mushrooms Soup taste fine to me except the strong fresh mushroom smell which really trouble me to finish it. I ordered tea and it came with a small pot of Lipton tea which you can ask to add hot water to refill.

Fish n Chip

Deep Fried Breaded Dory Fish with French Fries and Salad. It is those normal Fish n Chip that we can find in  most of the Kopitiam's Western Food stall. I personally think it is not very worth of money for ordering this as I can find Fish n Chip in Kopitiam which is much more lower than the price here and taste better too.

Chicken Chop with Brown Gravy

It is stated in the menu that it is Authentic Hainanese Cuisine of Deep Fried Breaded deboned Tender Chicken Meat topped lavishly with Brown Sauce. The first impression I look at it is "did I order wrong?" Again, another Kopitiam dish is found in this restaurant with higher price. Normal price for this is RM17.90 which only have Chicken chop with only French Fries and beans. I hardly see beans in most of the Western Restaurant now except in Kopitiam. The taste was not pretty good compare to Hainan Kopitiam's Chicken Chop. The gravy was a bit sour.

Grilled Tiger Prawn with Chicken

This dish taste not bad, the gravy for the grilled chicken taste quite good. However, the tiger prawn was a bit small compare to what I have imagined. I feel it is more like a normal prawn than tiger prawn. Overall normal, nothing special.

Grilled Tiger Prawn with Fish

Grilled tiger prawn with grilled dory fish topped with sweet sauce. It taste not bad too, I guess there is nothing much to say about since dad was not complaining it.

Mango Pudding

The dessert time! It is a bit disappointed when receiving it as it is not chill at all. It won't taste good if the pudding is not chilled. Explanation to it is: too many customer that day, the kitchen cant manage all the orders plus it is their time to buka puasa.

Besides, I was told that this restaurant do provide very good Chinese dish instead like the Cantonese Fried Noodles. I was told that the potion is very big too. Although, I haven't try it yet, if it is true, then I guess the boss should start a Chinese Restaurant instead. Besides, it is said that the Teh Tarik was very nice too and very big cup. I guess I must try this both one day.

We were undecided where to have lunch after movie last Sunday. We bump into this restaurant when mom spotted their set meals, kinda worth she said. So, that is how we end up our lunch here. I wasn't in the mood of reviewing any food that day so I didn't bring my camera out, I was regretted. I was force to use my phone to capture, the photos are very low quality . Anyway, for you inform, the place is located beside Nando's. It is hard to spot because it is hidden at the corner which is covered by Nando's big and attractive signboard.

Here is the promotion sets they offer but it is only applicable for IOI Mall outlet. We selected the Party of 4 Set B.

The Cendol taste kinda weird because it do not have santan (coconut milk) taste but the you can see small pieces white cubes floating in the Cendol. We guess it is the santan but is not cooked properly that make it become like that. Not nice at all.

 Curry Chicken Kapitan

The taste of the curry was not strong, very mild. Even the gravy was very watery. It is kinda disappointed as Nyonya food is famous for curry. 

 Stir Fried Mix Vegetable with Garlic

Nothing special, normal mix vegetable we can find everywhere.

 Deep Fried Fish Fillet with Sweet and Sour Sauce

This is the one I  have to mention and put a thumb up. I like this dish very much even my family agree on it too. Firstly what is great to praise is that the fish fillet do not have the fishy smell which I always dislike. This mean that they pick the correct fish to cook and the fish is fresh. Second is the sauce-sweet and sour, enough sweet and enough sour to make the taste quite strong that you shouldn't taste the sauce by itself. This kind of sauce must be combined with rice to eat with, if not it will gave your tongue a trigger.

 Chicken Kerabu in Nyonya Style

This Kerabu taste not bad but too much chilli padi in it that one bite make your tears rolling down. I personally like this dish, it is good appetiser before a meal.

Seafood Claypot Tofu

It is better to name as Seafood with Tofu instead of the Claypot cause no claypot was served but a bowl. It taste normal just like those normal Seafood Claypot Tofu in Chinese Restaurant. But the potion was quite enough for 4 of us.

Anyway, no rice and drink are included in the sets meal. So for white rice, it costs RM2 a bowl. Besides, only service tax will be charge from total bill, no government tax.
