Finished exam,
end of 1st sem of 2nd year,
packed all the stuff back,
going back to my sweet home.

Ipoh Trip

2 days 1 night to Ipoh where Seng Aiks is our tour guide and driver.

10 of us wandering around this little city with fun and laughter.

1 day- USM to bus stand by rapid Penang.
1st time took rapid in penang.
Journey to Ipoh started at 10am.
1st station- yong tau fu with curry mee.
2nd station-san bao miao



3rd station- a temple near san bao miao..forgoten the name
consists of 300+ staircase to the top of the temple.


4th station- Kellie's Castle
Built by William Kellie but the building did not complete because many people died when building and William died of pneumonia during the project. It is said that the place is haunted.

5th station- Ipoh chicken rice


only the tauge taste nice.
Meat balls have a very strong meat taste and chicken too.
I just can't take it.


6th station- Pasar Malam
Found 臭豆腐 there,
order taiwan style,
臭豆腐 very crispy but the vege not nice.


2nd day
1st station-Dim Sum in 玉福满 restaurant
A lot of people but the food won't that nice.
Dim Sum were served cold and limited dishes.

2nd station- Gua Tempurung
tired and scare



3rd station- Kampar
45 minutes drive from Ipoh.
We went to have Famous Curry Chicken wrap in bread.
We ordered from this kopitiam but the chicken bread where not make in this kopitiam.
The tauke went out and bring 2 big plastics bag with the bread back from somewhere. weird...

The bread taste sweet but the curry chicken a bit salty.


4th station- one and one hotel in Kampar


5th station- Tasik nearby Utar


6th station- Lost world in Ipoh
We didn't went in because we are lack of time.
Just took some pictures outside.

7th station- Yee Hup Bakery
bought some famous biscuits back to eat.

8th station- Kopitiam to have Ipoh Hor Fun
but finished so we had wet and fried popiah, Salty chicken and Ipoh White Coffee.

9th station- Seafood restaurant nearby Seng Aik's house
We had fish porridge and dang hoon craps.
indeed very special dishes I had today.

Last we put a fullstop for this journey
Bus back to Penang at 7.30pm
Arrived at 10 pm

If you were going through my brother's blog, you should know that Air Asia suspended the flight to Tianjin and our trip to Beijing has been canceled...damn...no Beijing for this year...Hoping for so many months and now December is just around the corner, I received bad news. Really make me no mood man...plus now is exam time, receiving bad news in the middle of exam is not a good feeling that one should have. This will influence my mood to study k...hate hate...

2nd last exam for today, hope I do well in Macro today...Jia you!!! All the bad news, bad mood, bad chi please go away, don't affect my exam....

Fun day

Last Saturday after dinner at 火锅之家, I went to Ho Kai Kong Temple with my cousin and ah ma. It was Ho Kai Kong Birthday on Sunday but there is a bath ceremony on Saturday night. Of course, I can't miss this chance to have a look look and take bath too..haha..The last time I came was when I was 7 years old I think. Too long, don't really remember, I just remember we all went wet and then we quickly ran up dad's car...haha..A great day I have with my family and a new thing I experienced.

On Sunday, we went to the temple again. This time is the cop cop time. Cop what? hehe..Cop clothes la.. Chinese tradisional thing, hard to explain...a ritual ceremony done.. I didn't take any photos on the ceremony because my cousin don't allow..swt..she said cannot but didn't said why..I also lazy to ask...So as usual we have to queue up for the cop cop thing and arguement started when people started to jump Q..."This is the usual thing every year done by the human" said my aunty. So I got my "xin lei"(a paper doll written my name on it) for RM4 for the cop cloth...need to pay also.. and I queue for my turn. My cloth being copped by a big cop at the back, luckily I wore black so cant see any cop there..haha..But we are ask not to wear black next time...I purposely don't want to see the cop ma..blek:p. A fun day for me to see so many weird things..hehe..

Popeyes-Louisiana Kitchen

Today, my brother gave us a treat at the new opening Popeyes- Louisiana Kitchen at Midvalley. It is a fast food restaurant with the same concept as KFC. It said to be 2nd largest after KFC i think. But the taste is much more better than KFC. At least I have something good for today after yesterday. My brother and dear called chicken combo set with 3 pieces of chicken, a biscuit, a drink, 2 side dish-coleslaw and smashpotato with cajun gravy for RM11.95. I have seafood set with a fried fish, 5 pieces of shrimps, a drink, a biscuit, a coleslaw and a smash potato for RM14.95. I don't think it is worth of money because the portion is quite small. Brother also added one extra strawberry cheese cake for RM3.95. All the price shown is nett which mean no tax.

I like the smash potato so much. The taste was so different from the normal smash potato. It contains chicken, pork and beef in the gravy. I'm not quite sure whether it is stated Halal or not or they have change the ingredients in the menu of smash potato for Malaysia. Smash potato is a must try item. Rating: 4/5. The coleslaw is good too. You can hear a crunchy sound when you chew the coleslaw. The chickens we ordered are spicy one because from my brother's comment that the normal chicken is tasteless compare to the spicy one. Spicy chicken is more crunchy but it is not spicy. They shouldn't named it spicy it think.

The fried fish I had, taste good, it is so juice when you bite it and it does not have the fishy smell..so different from the fish we had in Manhattan Fish Market. Biscuit is the part that make Popeyes special. The biscuit looks like a cream puff shape and taste salty but not sweet..weird right but taste very good especially when it is with strawberry jam.

Other than chicken and seafood, they do have burgers and other more. Maybe I'll try the burger next time. A must try outlet. So far I saw there are only 2 stores which in Midvalley and Sunway.

Shogun

Yesterday, we went to Shogun at Sunway Pyramid. We have make reservation week ago to ensure we have a seat there. The promotion is still on till this end of October. After discount for lunch is RM 32.40 nett per person. It is cheaper than the normal price which is RM49.90 ++. The place haven open yet when we reached there but a lot of people is queueing outside. Very fast the waiter lead us to our table. We saw people rushing to get the food when we pass by the food before we reached our table.

The waiter bring green tea to us. So we started to pick some food and try. Luckily we didn't took much..One word to describe the food there- GROSS. The food there are so not up to standard. It is better to eat sushi king. I will describe how gross it is one by one according to the photos I took. Guys, please don't waste money to eat SHOGUN only if you want to try how bad the food is then go ahead. Actually, I personally came to try how bad is the food after reading through so many food blog. I do not want to believe it but I have to admit the food taste bad.

Sushi is my favourite but these one spoils my appetite. Unagi is smelly, the rice is not cooked and hard to chew..end up we throw always all the rice..

These one quite ok...still can eat..

The oysters damn not fresh, one bite make us want to vomit it out.

Mushroom soup? more like thick mushroom porridge..

Sharkfin soup.. damn..so much starch and tasteless..where is the sharkfin?

salmon fish and foot long sausage...damn salty..seem like the chief have added the salt twice.

Thai food... salty..

Beside the photos, we had juices and ice-cream too. We have tasteless fresh watermelon juice and sour fresh orange juice. The ice- creams are from Nestle so no need to comment on that cause it is the normal ice-cream we can get from supermarkets. That is it from my opinion on SHOGUN. Rating: 2/10.
